Job Announcement: Inventory Lead

Mud Bay's Inventory Leads are both team players and team leaders: 1) they're standout store staff; 2) they stand in for the store manager when neither manager nor shift lead are present; and 3) they're the store's leader on all aspects of inventory operations. Much of an inventory lead's time is spent on inventory operations: early morning receiving, busting and restocking, correcting on-hand quantities and adjusting max levels. But inventory leads also participate in the primary work of the store: creating the Mud Bay Experience for customers, engaging dog and cat owners in conversation and helping them solve problems. When neither manager nor shift lead are in the store, inventory leads take over many (but not all) of the manager's roles and accountabilities: leading the staff, ensuring the creation of the Mud Bay Experience for customers and coworkers, opening or closing the store and helping empower and guide staff in making judgment calls on Mud Bay's behalf. On matters related to inventory, inventory leads lead, train and hold the entire staff accountable. Inventory leads enjoy dogs and cats and are committed to expanding their knowledge of them. They’re flexible, have great judgment, and enjoy working as part of a team to ensure that the store is a clean, interesting and happy place for customers and staff to shop, work and talk with each other.
